When the autofill option is enabled, it could be possible that the autofilled text is displayed when entering data in a text field, which can cause confusion. If you’re seeing unexpected suggestions or pre-filled values in text fields, it may be due to your browser’s autofill settings. Here’s how to disable or clear autofill in all major browsers:

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to: chrome://settings/autofill

  2. Under Addresses and more, click and turn off the toggle for Save and fill addresses.

  3. (Optional) To clear already saved autofill data:

    • Go to: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

    • Select the Advanced tab

    • Check Autofill form data

    • Click Clear data

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the menu (☰) > Settings

  2. Go to Privacy & Security

  3. Scroll to Forms and Autofill

  4. Uncheck Autofill addresses and/or Autofill credit cards

  5. To clear saved form data:

    • Go to History > Clear Recent History

    • Check Form & Search History

    • Click OK

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings (or Preferences) from the top menu.

  2. Click the Autofill tab.

  3. Uncheck the options you want to disable, such as:

    • Using information from my contacts

    • User names and passwords

    • Credit cards

    • Other forms

  4. To delete saved autofill info:

    • Go to the Passwords tab to remove saved login credentials, or

    • Open Keychain Access (via Spotlight) and remove entries manually.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and go to: edge://settings/personalinfo

  2. Turn off Save and fill basic info

  3. (Optional) To clear stored autofill entries:

    • Go to: edge://settings/clearBrowserData

    • Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear

    • Select Autofill form data (includes forms and cards)

    • Click Clear now
