When the autofill option is enabled, it could be possible that the autofilled text is displayed when entering data in a text field, which can cause confusion. If you’re seeing unexpected suggestions or pre-filled values in text fields, it may be due to your browser’s autofill settings. Here’s how to disable or clear autofill in all major browsers:
Google Chrome
Open Chrome and go to:
chrome://settings/autofill
Under Addresses and more, click and turn off the toggle for Save and fill addresses.
(Optional) To clear already saved autofill data:
Go to:
chrome://settings/clearBrowserDataSelect the Advanced tab
Check Autofill form data
Click Clear data
Mozilla Firefox
Click the menu (☰) > Settings
Go to Privacy & Security
Scroll to Forms and Autofill
Uncheck Autofill addresses and/or Autofill credit cards
To clear saved form data:
Go to History > Clear Recent History
Check Form & Search History
Click OK
Safari (macOS)
Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings (or Preferences) from the top menu.
Click the Autofill tab.
Uncheck the options you want to disable, such as:
Using information from my contacts
User names and passwords
Credit cards
Other forms
To delete saved autofill info:
Go to the Passwords tab to remove saved login credentials, or
Open Keychain Access (via Spotlight) and remove entries manually.
Microsoft Edge
Open Edge and go to:
edge://settings/personalinfo
Turn off Save and fill basic info
(Optional) To clear stored autofill entries:
Go to:
edge://settings/clearBrowserDataUnder Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear
Select Autofill form data (includes forms and cards)
Click Clear now
