We document and securely store everything within our system and make it accessible in the cloud. This means you can access all your projects in Geniebelt at any time, regardless of the device you’re using (computer, tablet, or phone) or where you are, whether working from home, at the office, on the construction site, or on vacation.
You can also review the audit trail of any task at any time, where all updates are logged with timestamps to ensure full transparency and detailed tracking.
For those of you who are a bit more technical
All traffic between your browser or mobile app and Geniebelt travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and any unencrypted request is automatically redirected to the secure one. This protects your data as it crosses the internet, so someone monitoring a shared office or public Wi-Fi network cannot read it.
Each time a device signs in, we issue it its own randomly generated access key, so a credential taken from one device is useless on any other and we can revoke a single device without affecting the rest.
We never store your password. We store only a scrambled, one-way version of it, and there is no key that turns it back not for us, and not for anyone who obtained a copy of our database. The one real risk is guessing, which is why we ask you to choose a long, unique password. Device sign-in tokens and our single-use login and file-sharing links are protected the same way.
Every change our developers make is checked by an automated test suite before it can ship, and every change is scanned to make sure no passwords or keys are accidentally committed. Our server software runs on current, supported versions, and we are notified automatically when newer versions become available.
Your files are copied to long-term AWS archive storage when you upload them, and our databases run on managed AWS infrastructure with automated backups and live replicas. If something goes wrong we can restore from backup as with any backup system, recovery takes time and a short window of the most recent changes may not be recoverable.
