There are three types of portfolio available:

  • Manual

  • Automatic

  • Semi-automatic

There are two views of portfolio available:

  • Gantt

  • Tree diagram

All portfolios are created as Gantt views.

If the Portfolio tab is enabled for your account, you can also display your portfolio as a Tree Diagram.

Manual Portfolio

Gantt view

A manual portfolio allows you to choose exactly which projects are included in your portfolio view.

  • Create a new project.

  • Select Add task to create a new empty project.

  • Click the Hammer icon in the menu.

  • Select Link project.

  • Choose the first project you want to include in your portfolio.

  • Repeat the process until you have linked all the projects you want to include.

When you have added all the required project links, delete the example task that was created when you created the empty project.

Your manual portfolio is now complete and you can see the status of all added projects in this overview.

For more information about:

  • Opening a linked project

  • Removing a project link

  • How the Description field works

Archived projects remain visible in a manual portfolio as long as they are linked.

If you no longer want an archived project to appear in the portfolio, remove the project link before archiving the project.

Flat tree diagram view

If the Portfolio tab is enabled for your account, your manual portfolio will automatically appear there as a flat tree diagram.

The root node project percentage is calculated the same way we normally calculate projects if the portfolio is presented as flat tree.
